Deputy khokim of Dehqanabad caught with a bribe in his office

As a result of an urgent action to combat corruption in the Kashkadarya region, a shocking case was revealed.

During an operation carried out by the State Security Service in cooperation with the Kashkadarya regional administration and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office, the deputy khokim of Dehqanabad district was detained while accepting a bribe.

According to information, the deputy khokim of the district, having gained the trust of the head of a local farm, demanded a bribe of 21 million soums in exchange for covering up his plan to deliver 300 kilograms of cocoons in 2025. He was caught with material evidence during the first stage of the crime - when he personally received 7 million soums in his office.

Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal case on this case under Article 168, Part 3, Clause “c” (fraud) and Article 28,211, Part 1 (attempted bribery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The person has been taken into custody as a precautionary measure.

At present, the investigation into this case is continuing at an accelerated pace. According to officials, such cases tarnish the reputation of state administration bodies and legal measures must be severe.
