Blogger Qabil Dusov was sentenced to 5 years and 2 months of imprisonment

The court verdict was read out to blogger Qabil Dosov. Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court, informed about this.

It was reported that the public trial of the criminal case against Qabil Dosov was completed today in the Shaikhontohur District Court and the verdict was announced. The criminal case was considered in the first instance under the chairmanship of A. Mirzakhanov, judge of Shaikhontohur District Court.

According to the court verdict, Qabil Dusov was found guilty of committing crimes against 5 victims (head and officials of the Navoi Regional Department of Preschool and School Education, senior inspector of the Probation Department of the Chirchik City Internal Affairs Department) under Article 139 (slander), Part 3, Clause “a”, Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Clause “a”, and Article 237 (false report), Part 2, Clause “g” of the Criminal Code.

Qabil Dusov was sentenced to 5 years and 2 months of imprisonment, to be served in a partial addition to the sentence imposed by the Arnasay District Court on Criminal Cases on February 24, 2025. The sentence is to be served in general regime colonies.

In addition, Qabil Dusov's Facebook profile and Telegram channel have been suspended and blocked.

Qabil Dusov was found guilty of committing the crime of insult by the Chilonzor District Criminal Court on November 22, 2024, and was sentenced to 1 year of restriction of liberty. In accordance with the ruling of the Yashnobod District Criminal Court on January 24, 2025, the 11 months and 2 days of restriction of liberty imposed on Qabil Dusov and not yet served was replaced with imprisonment for the same period, and the sentence was to be served in a correctional facility.
