Shokhrukh Aminov appointed as Karakalpakstan's new prosecutor

An important personnel change has taken place in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Shokhrukh Azamatovich Aminov has officially been appointed as the region’s new prosecutor. The announcement was made during the extraordinary sixth session of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan.

Born in 1981, Aminov holds a higher legal education. He graduated from Samarkand State University in 2002 with a degree in law. He began his career in 2004 at the Samarkand city prosecutor’s office, later serving in various roles within the Samarkand regional prosecutor’s office.

Since 2014, Aminov has worked in the General Prosecutor’s Office, where he has held positions such as department prosecutor, senior prosecutor, deputy head of department, and department head. He has also served as deputy prosecutor of Tashkent region and deputy director of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

From 2018 to 2020, he served as the prosecutor of Navoi region. In November 2020, he was appointed prosecutor of Syrdarya region. As of April 2022, he was serving as Deputy Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan.

For reference, the post of Karakalpakstan prosecutor was previously held by Erkabay Tojiev since July 2022. His future assignment has not yet been disclosed.
