On August 16, a shocking incident occurred in the city of Termez. A man brutally beat his wife, and she was forced to flee with her young child.
The victim, a woman, had been enduring her husband's constant violence for 6 years. According to her, she had hoped for change, but after each incident of violence, nothing changed. One day, after yet another attack, she decided to take action and fled with her child.
The video footage shows the woman hastily leaving, taking only her child. She claims that her husband did not work and raised the children himself. Furthermore, he constantly extorted money from her and used illegal substances. Relatives were aware of his behavior but did not intervene. The victim's husband viewed the violence against her as a "normal" part of their relationship. He believed it was his right to punish her for any wrongdoing.
According to the woman, if her husband had been as cruel as he was, she would not have survived. This case illustrates how, in some societies, women are seen as property of men, leading to such treatment and domestic violence. Once again, violence can never be justified by any circumstances.
Thus, this crime is not only about the man's actions but also about his thoughts and behaviors, which reflect a deeper social responsibility. Women should never tolerate violence. We call on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to pay attention to this case and conduct an investigation.
