Illegal lime kilns shut down in Navoi

In Navoi region, important measures have been taken as part of the fight against illegal activities that pose a threat to environmental protection and public health. According to official data, as a result of large-scale inspections, the operation of more than 30 lime kilns that had not been registered and were operating in violation of regulations has been completely stopped.

These actions were carried out by a special working group consisting of representatives from the Department of Ecology, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Department of Internal Affairs, and the National Guard. In particular, during inspections in the “Yangiariq” neighborhood of Karmana district, it was found that the kilns were emitting pollutants into the atmosphere.

In addition, during the inventory process, several lime production workshops were also found to be operating illegally without any official permits. This situation was assessed not only as harmful to the environment but also as a serious threat to the living conditions of the population and overall safety.

As a result, 36 kilns that grossly violated established requirements were demolished. According to officials, inspections and investigations are still ongoing. Other illegally operating kilns are also planned to be gradually and completely shut down.
