In Namangan, information spread that violence was used against a citizen by law enforcement officers and he ended up in serious condition. This was reported by the head of the human rights society “Ezgulik”, Abdurahmon Tashanov.
According to Tashanov, on August 16, in the Namangan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Center, a surgical operation was carried out on 31-year-old A. U., and his spleen was removed. According to the citizen’s lawyer, about this matter an immediate appeal was made to the prosecutor of Namangan region.
It is reported that on August 14, police officers subjected him to torture in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for two days and inflicted life-threatening bodily injuries. Then he was accused of petty hooliganism and brought to the Namangan city court of administrative affairs. However, the court did not confirm the accusation and rejected the administrative case.
After that, the citizen was taken to the hospital by law enforcement officers, and doctors managed to save his life.
“Regarding this matter, all medical certificates and video recordings are available. In the photographs presented by the lawyer, the traces of handcuffs on the citizen’s hands and bodily injuries on his body are clearly visible,” wrote Tashanov.
