In Samarkand, the latest road traffic accident has sparked widespread debates and discussions in society. On September 3 of this year, at around 01:00 a.m., on Ibn Sina Street and within the airport area, a Cobalt car moving at high speed lost control and first hit a scooter that was traveling ahead.
According to the Regional Road Safety Department, the Cobalt driver was moving at a speed significantly higher than the norm. As a result, he lost control of the steering wheel and first struck the scooter driver and his passenger, then crashed into the automatic barrier at the airport entrance.
As a result of the accident, the scooter driver and passenger sustained injuries and were forced to seek medical help. It is reported that their health is currently under doctors’ supervision.
A preliminary investigation has been launched by the Samarkand City Department of Internal Affairs, Road Safety Division. During the investigation, the driver’s actions and the causes that led to the incident are being thoroughly examined.
Experts emphasize that one of the main causes of such tragic incidents is speeding and irresponsibility on the road. They remind drivers of the need to strictly follow the rules and exercise increased caution, especially in crowded areas such as airports.
The public, meanwhile, notes that this incident once again highlighted the urgency of strengthening road control, adhering to speed limits, and ensuring public safety.
