Employees of the State Security Service Department for the Fergana region stopped jewelry items worth 5.7 billion soums, which were illegally imported from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.
The event was held in cooperation with customs authorities. According to the information, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, born in 1987, residing in the Fergana district, received a large amount of jewelry illegally transferred to our country from the "Uzbek-Kyrgyz" state border by bypass routes.
Subsequently, for material gain, both individuals were apprehended while delivering them to a resident of Jalaquduq district, Andijan region, born in 1997, who was waiting for them in Fergana.
The total weight of these gold jewelry pieces is 5 kg 706 grams, and according to preliminary estimates, their total value is 5 billion 746 million soums.
Currently, pre-investigation checks and inquiries are being conducted against these individuals, and work is continuing to identify their illegal actions and financial interests.
This practice is considered an important step in preventing smuggling and illegal entry of goods and materials.
