An unusual incident in Bukhara became the subject of wide public discussion. According to information released by the regional Department of Internal Affairs, a young man attempted to cunningly seize an expensive phone being sold online, and as a result committed a series of criminal acts.
According to the data, on September 14 a resident of Bukhara district posted an advertisement on the internet to sell his iPhone. After some time, an unknown person called him and expressed the intention to buy the phone. He arrived in a white “Nexia 3” car with tinted windows and no license plate and suggested handing over the money inside the car. Under this pretext, he invited the seller into the vehicle, took the phone, and drove away.
After that, a special plan “Interception” was introduced throughout the region. At 02:30 a.m., all posts of law enforcement agencies were put on high alert.
As a result of operational search activities, it was established that the “Nexia 3” car was moving along Islam Karimov Street in the city of Bukhara. At 04:41, the driver of this vehicle — M.A., born in 2003, a resident of the “Foshun” mahalla of Bukhara city — did not comply with the lawful stop signals of the traffic police officers. During the escape, he damaged several vehicles and caused disorder in the street.
As a result, the driver and the car were fully stopped and detained. At present, the Bukhara regional prosecutor’s office has initiated a criminal case against him under part 2 of article 219 (disobedience to representatives of authority) and part 3 of article 166 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the basis of article 221 of the Criminal Procedural Code, M.A. was taken into custody.
The regional DIA and prosecutor’s office are currently conducting preliminary investigative actions. Specialists emphasize that such cases pose a threat not only as a violation of the law but also as a serious danger to road traffic safety.
This incident once again reminds the public of the need for caution when selling personal property via the internet. Because nowadays, some individuals attempt to seize the property of others through various tricks and fraud.
