11 bullets found in civilian car at border post

An unusual incident occurred in Tashkent region. According to customs authorities, illegal ammunition was found in a car driven by a citizen at the “Bekabad auto” customs checkpoint.

According to the information, during an inspection carried out jointly with the Border Troops, the vehicle was thoroughly examined in accordance with the established procedure. Unexpectedly, it turned out that ammunition, not mentioned during the oral questioning and not declared in the customs declaration, was hidden in a container for items on the back seat of the car.

It was determined that the hidden items were 11 cartridges of 10 millimeters caliber for a traumatic pistol. It was noted that the driver had not informed customs officers about these cartridges.

At present, pre-investigative measures are being carried out regarding this incident. According to officials, under the legislation of Uzbekistan, the import, export, and transit of civilian and service weapons, as well as their ammunition, into the state territory is allowed only with permits from the relevant authorities.

This incident once again demonstrated the importance of strict control at the border and at customs points. Experts believe that such situations may pose a threat to security, and therefore both public vigilance and the responsibility of state bodies are important in preventing violations.
