A road accident occurred in Samarkand region endangering the life of a 15-year-old girl. On Panjakent street, the driver of a Gentra car hit a pedestrian at high speed and immediately disappeared from the scene. This information was provided by the Regional Traffic Safety Department.
The incident happened on September 24 around 19:00. The driver moved against the oncoming traffic flow on the street and hit the pedestrian without any chance to stop. Since the victim is young, the incident caused great concern among the public.
As a result of a quick search operation, the driver and his car were found in one of the workshops. A criminal case was initiated against him. According to the investigative authorities, the accused is being held accountable under Article 266 (violation of rules for the movement and use of vehicles) and Article 117 (leaving in danger) of the Criminal Code.
It became known that the driver resides in Qo‘shchinor neighborhood of Toyloq district. During a meeting held by the regional internal affairs department, he expressed regret for his actions and promised not to repeat such a mistake.
Currently, the preliminary investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the Samarkand district police. Officials emphasize that all circumstances will be thoroughly studied during the investigation process and measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
Thus, this road traffic incident once again reminded drivers of the necessity to be cautious, to obey the rules, and to value human life as the highest priority.
