Uzbek medicine has achieved another remarkable success — local surgeons successfully removed a dangerous brain tumor from a 7-year-old girl. This was reported by the National Children’s Medical Center.
According to the information, a few months ago, the little girl went to the doctor complaining of severe headaches and fatigue. After examinations, it was revealed that she had a dangerous tumor in her brain. Foreign clinics also could not help, and the mother was told that the child had no more than six months to live.
However, hope lives until the last breath. Surgeons of the National Children’s Medical Center decided to perform the operation. The surgery, which lasted several hours, was successfully completed despite its complexity. Doctors managed to remove 80 percent of the tumor.
According to the director of the center, Bakhtiyor Umarov, the operation was extremely responsible and required precision. “It was not only a medical but also a humanitarian challenge. We worked feeling how valuable every child’s life is,” he said.
At present, the girl’s condition is stable, and she is under medical supervision. It is noted that the likelihood of her full recovery is very high.
The second stage of the surgery will be performed as part of the “Health Marathon” taking place in Nukus. Within the framework of the marathon, not only surgeries but also preventive examinations and early disease detection activities are being carried out.
Qualified doctors from Karakalpakstan are also participating in the event in Nukus. Together with the team of the National Children’s Medical Center, they are performing high-tech surgeries to treat severe illnesses.
