A man, under psychological pressure due to family disputes and an ongoing divorce process, committed a cruel crime against his wife — he deliberately ran her over with a “Damas” car, causing severe injuries. Local law enforcement authorities reported this incident.
According to information, the couple’s relationship had long deteriorated. The case reached court, and on August 12, 2025, the Civil Court of the Navoi region reviewed the divorce proceedings. Before issuing a final decision, the court granted a three-month reconciliation period and ordered the man to pay alimony for their four children. However, the court’s decision only deepened his anger. He began sending threatening messages to his wife, demanding that she refuse alimony payments.
Witnesses say he repeatedly insulted and intimidated her, eventually taking a horrifying step. On the morning of August 14, the man saw his wife walking by the roadside and deliberately drove his “Damas” straight at her. The impact left the woman seriously injured — her spine was damaged, leaving her paralyzed. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and remains in critical condition in intensive care.
According to investigators, a criminal case has been opened under Article 266 of the Criminal Code (“Violation of safety rules in the use of vehicles”). However, the victim’s relatives strongly oppose treating the case as “negligence.” They insist the act was intentional and demand a fair investigation.
One of the woman’s close relatives said she was trying to rebuild her life after the divorce, but the man constantly monitored her, subjecting her to both psychological and physical abuse. “He even sent threats through our relatives. She was too afraid to leave the house. But that day, she went out just to see her children — and tragedy struck,” the relative told reporters.
The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are working to fully clarify the circumstances and assess the suspect’s actions legally. The incident has sparked strong public reaction in the Navoi region. Citizens emphasize the need to strengthen laws against domestic violence and violence toward women, calling the incident not a “domestic quarrel,” but a blatant act of violence against women’s rights.
The fate of the four children left without their mother has drawn public attention. Humanitarian organizations and local authorities are providing them with material and moral assistance.
