Quotas for scientific training for 2026 approved

Uzbekistan has approved admission quotas for trainee research, basic doctoral, and doctoral programs for 2026. This was announced by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

According to the data, a total of 5,300 quotas have been allocated for the scientific personnel training system next year. Of these, 4,094 are for basic doctoral programs, 714 for doctoral programs, and 398 for trainee-research positions.

Additionally, 76 positions have been allocated for targeted doctoral programs (DSc and PhD), and 18 special quotas for women in the field of ecology. This is considered an important step in supporting women’s participation in science and research.

Document submission will continue until November 5, 2025. Candidates may apply for all forms of postgraduate education and trainee-research programs.

The educational process and scholarships will be funded from the state budget. This aims to increase the country’s scientific potential, form a new generation of researchers, and ensure sustainable development in the field of science.

Analysts believe this decision will help reduce the shortage of personnel in scientific institutions and create wider opportunities for young scientists.
