A surprising situation was observed in the Syrdarya region - a father who had been running away for three years without paying alimony for his children was finally found.
According to the information, the citizen had not paid alimony for his two children for a long time. His debt has reached 63 million soums. Despite the existence of a court order, he evaded fulfilling his financial obligations and spent a long time in search.
During the search, it was discovered that he was hiding in a barn belonging to a farm in the Khatyrchi district of the Navoi region, far from the Syrdarya River. Law enforcement officers quickly located and detained him.
Based on the decision of the Administrative Court, he was sentenced to 15 days of imprisonment for deliberate evasion of payment of alimony arrears and repayment of debts. Meanwhile, measures are being taken to recover the remaining debt.
Lawyers emphasize that alimony obligations are not only a law but also a responsibility from the standpoint of humanity and paternal duty. "Providing a child financially is their right, and denying it is not a good thing for the father's name," the statement says.
Currently, enforcement proceedings are ongoing in this case in Syrdarya. Officials reminded that in such cases, running away and hiding does not solve the problem, but, on the contrary, aggravates the punishment.
