Another stage of improvement works has been completed on Bobur Street in Tashkent. Previously, over a hundred pine trees had been felled in this area.
New, young saplings were planted in place of the cut trees. However, the main thing that caught the attention of city dwellers was not so much the greening itself, but rather the innovation – a bright green lighting system installed for each newly planted tree.
This step, taken "to improve the aesthetic appearance," has sparked much debate given the recent environmental damage. As a reminder, according to preliminary estimates, the felling of the pine trees caused environmental damage amounting to 620 million soums.
