
Tolerance is considered one of the most important factors in ensuring peace, harmony, and development in society. In this sense, each state pays attention to the issue of ensuring tolerance and harmony as one of the priority tasks of its state policy.
Systematic work is also being carried out in the Republic of Uzbekistan to ensure tolerance and interethnic harmony. In particular, the legal framework in this area has been strengthened on the basis of adopted laws, Presidential decrees and resolutions, and Government resolutions.
In the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is firmly established that all citizens have equal rights and freedoms, and are equal before the law regardless of gender, race, nationality, language, religion, beliefs, social origin, or social status.
In the adoption of the Constitution, which is the main law of the country, it is stated that the decent life of citizens, interethnic and interfaith harmony are among the priority goals.
Today, representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities live in Uzbekistan as one family. There are more than 2,200 religious organizations, 16 religious denominations, 157 national cultural centers, 38 friendship societies, and 98 compatriot societies abroad.
The ongoing reforms are further strengthening mutual kindness, solidarity, and unity. In this regard, the state, as the main reformer, ensured respect for the languages, customs, and traditions of all nations and nationalities in the country and created the necessary conditions for their development.
In 2,037 schools of our country, education is conducted in 7 languages: Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian, Tajik, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Turkmen. Television and radio broadcasts are broadcast in 12 languages, newspapers and magazines are published in 14 languages.
The most beautiful buildings have been allocated for the activities of national cultural centers, where national holidays, festivals, concerts and meetings, performances by famous cultural figures, seminars and conferences are regularly held.
These efforts are practical proof of the strengthening of interethnic friendship and the creation of equal opportunities for all citizens in our country.
July 30, recognized worldwide as the International Day of Friendship, has been declared the Day of Friendship of Peoples in our country.
Based on the relevant decrees and resolutions of the head of our state, this date will be widely celebrated throughout our country. On the occasion of the Day of Friendship of Peoples, the Head of State announces a festive congratulatory message to the people of Uzbekistan.
People who work effectively to strengthen friendship, harmony, and accord in society are awarded the "Friendship of Peoples" badges, and the activities of friendship societies and cultural centers in this direction are recognized.
Also, a number of events dedicated to November 16 - International Day of Tolerance are held annually in our country.
In particular, on November 10-15 of this year, events of the "Week of Tolerance" will be held throughout the country.
Within the framework of the Week, various cultural, educational, and scientific-practical festive events are planned to be held in all regions of the republic and the city of Tashkent.
This week and the events held within its framework are an example of a noble initiative that calls for harmony and unity.
Tolerance is the respect, acceptance, and correct understanding of various rich cultures, which is not only a moral duty, but also a political and legal need. Tolerance is a force that leads to a culture of peace.
The peaceful and tranquil life in Uzbekistan, the unity and solidarity of our people are the fruit of the tolerance established in this country. This is the result of the policy of tolerance being implemented in our country.
