A video showing the case of forcing a minor girl into prostitution in Tashkent spread on social networks and caused great public outrage, the Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the information, the identities of the women recorded in the video have been identified. During the investigation, it became known that a woman named Sh.T., born in 2004 and previously convicted of a crime, held M.M., born in 2008, by force in a house located in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent.
She took the girl’s phone, sold it, and, taking advantage of her helpless condition, had been forcing her into prostitution.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Sh.T. has been charged under several articles — human trafficking, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and robbery — and she has been taken into custody.
At present, the victim girl is receiving psychological, legal, and social assistance from the Andijan regional branch of the National Agency for Social Protection.
Law-enforcement bodies continue investigative actions regarding this crime.
