Singer Kh.Kh. was sentenced. He had been in custody since August 9, 2025, on suspicion of committing a fraudulent crime. Kun.uz reviewed the court document.
According to the court verdict, Jahongir Otajonov and Kh.Kh. met and became like brothers while studying at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. The exchange between the two singers began in 2017.
November 2017. X.X. bought Jahongir Otajonov's Lexus car for $68,000. He gave $34,000 as a down payment and agreed to pay the remaining $34,000 in installments over two years. Subsequently, he managed to transfer the car to other individuals based on a purchase and sale agreement, and instead of giving $34,000 to Jahongir Otajonov, he spent the money on personal needs.
July 2019. Kh.Kh. invited Jahongir Otajonov to his acquaintance's wedding ceremony in Tashkent and promised to give him $1000 for his services. He took the agreed $1000 from the host himself and said that he would give it to Jahongir Otajonov later. But he did not give this money, but spent it on his own needs. In July 2019, X.X. took Jahongir Otajonov to a wedding in the Kashkadarya region in the same manner and did not give the singer the agreed $5 thousand for the service, taking it from the host himself.
February 2021. Kh.Kh. heard that Jahongir Otajonov wants to sell a BMW car for 83 thousand dollars. He gave the car to the singer for $15,000 and received the remaining part with the condition of paying for it for 2 years. Later, he managed to register the car in the name of other persons on the basis of a purchase and sale agreement. According to the agreement, he didn't give the $68,000 to Jahongir Otajonov, but used it for his own needs.
March 2021. Kh.Kh. learned that Jahongir Otajonov intends to sell an apartment in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. He told the singer that he had found a client for this apartment and would sell the house for $35,000. However, he gave $30,000 of this amount and promised to give the remaining $5,000 later. But he didn't keep his promise this time either.
In addition, Kh.Kh. encouraged Jahongir Otajonov to buy a house in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent, where he had previously lived on a rental basis, for a period of two years in installments. He assured her that he would buy the 1.18-sotka residential part of the 6.54-sotka house in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent, where the singer lived, for $50,000 and give this money as payment for the apartment in the Yakkasaray district, which Jahongir Otajonov is buying. However, taking advantage of Jahongir Otajonov's stay in Turkey, X.X. managed to fully transfer the apartment in the Mirzo Ulugbek district to the buyer's name on April 2, 2021, without paying $50,000 to the owner of the house. On May 12, 2021, he registered 1.18 sotix of the house in his name. Through this, he acquired Jahongir Otajonov's property rights to the house. Then, on July 25, 2022, he sold the apartment and caused $50,000 in material damage to Jahongir Otajonov.
Similarly, Kh.Kh. caused $32,000 in damage to Jahongir Otajonov in another house episode and spent this money on his own needs.Kh.Kh. partially admitted his guilt in court and stated that he spent this money on the development of his activities in the field of art.
"According to my calculations, I need to give Jahongir Otajonov $85,000. In terms of the time of the incident, I may be mistaken regarding the amount of money involved in money transactions. Taking into account that Jahongir Otajonov keeps all calculations for himself, I fully confirm all his arguments regarding the amount of money," he said in his testimony in court.
Also, Kh.Kh. expressed remorse for his actions, stated that if possible, he would work and compensate the victim for the material damage caused, and asked the court for leniency.
By the verdict of the Yakkasaray District Criminal Court, Kh.Kh. was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" (fraud) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Kh.Kh. was ordered to recover 2 billion 337 million soums of material damage in favor of the victim Jahongir Otajonov. It is also envisaged that 2 apartments registered in the name of Kh.Kh., located in the city of Tashkent, will be assessed as property acquired as a result of a crime and put up for sale, and the proceeds from the sale will be used to compensate for the material damage caused.
