Drug scheme uncovered in Tashkent and Namangan

Major drug-related criminal schemes were uncovered in Tashkent city and Namangan region. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thanks to joint measures carried out by operational services, the activities of several organized groups were suppressed, and their members were detained.

According to the information, on November 9, a special controlled delivery operation was carried out in the capital with the participation of the operational-search department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service. In this case, a person born in 1978 and his accomplice, born in 1973, were detained in the Yangikhayot district while smuggling drugs from a specially designated hiding place. As a result of the investigation, it was found that they took 19 kg 80 grams of drugs based on the geolocation left by their accomplices.

In addition, on November 13, during an operational operation in the Namangan region, the activities of several criminal groups, formed over many years and interconnected, were exposed. A 30-year-old man who acted as a courier and his 32-year-old accomplice were detained while receiving 10 kilograms of hashish hidden in the field area of Uchkurgan district.

During the investigation, it became known that these articles were given to them by two leading persons, who took them from the address they had left. During the events, it was reported that one of the leaders - a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 2001 - was detained, and the other was detained on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Currently, work is underway to identify and detain the remaining members of the association.

In both cases, a criminal case was initiated on the basis of part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, and the suspects were involved in the investigation with a preventive measure of detention.

Relevant agencies emphasize that operational measures have been intensified to prevent the indiscriminate distribution of this amount of narcotics.
