Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies, through international cooperation, have uncovered another major criminal case. A wanted gang leader known as "Gryaz" has been apprehended and extradited back to Uzbekistan. This information was officially announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the report, the individual had been on the wanted list since 2023 for serious crimes, including murder or threats of violence, robbery, extortion, deliberate destruction of property, and causing property damage. A series of complex investigative operations were conducted to locate and apprehend the 32-year-old Yo.M., who had fled justice and was hiding in Turkey.
The operation was carried out collaboratively by the Organized Crime Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rapid Response Department, the State Security Service, and Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Istanbul. As a result, the leader of the gang known as "Gryaz" was captured and extradited to Uzbekistan on December 5 of this year.
It has been noted that Y.M. faces charges under several articles of the Criminal Code, including murder or threats of violence, robbery, extortion, intentional property damage, and organizing a criminal group. These accusations are based on investigation materials compiled by the Internal Affairs Department of the Yashnobod District.
The detained individual has now been handed over to investigative authorities, and legal investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement agencies emphasize that their fight against such crimes will continue decisively and stress that criminals cannot escape responsibility, regardless of their location.
