Two Cobalt Cars Collide in Fergana: One Passenger Killed

A road traffic accident in Fergana district of Fergana region resulted in a fatality. The incident occurred on December 21, around 12:30 PM, at the 6th kilometer of the Fergana–Satorobod–Khongiz highway, passing through the Fergana neighborhood area.

According to the press service of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs, a Cobalt vehicle traveling from Fergana city towards Khongiz village suddenly swerved sharply to the left without observing safety requirements, while it was stopped on the right side of the road. This led to a collision with another Cobalt vehicle approaching from behind in the same direction.

Due to the strong impact, one of the passengers in the vehicle suffered severe injuries. The injured person was promptly taken to the district central hospital, where all necessary medical assistance was provided by doctors. However, despite the measures taken, it was not possible to save the life of the 52-year-old victim.

According to reports, the driver of the stationary vehicle failed to comply with safety regulations, including taking into account surrounding vehicles when resuming movement, which led to the tragic outcome.

At present, pre-investigation checks are being conducted by the relevant authorities regarding this traffic incident. All circumstances and causes of the accident are expected to be determined.
