According to the National Statistics Committee, in January 2026, 589,647 citizens of Uzbekistan traveled abroad for tourism purposes. This figure increased by 38.2 thousand people, or 6.9 percent, compared to the same month last year. In short, suitcases are still "awakened" in January.
It is noteworthy that most of the trips were not to distant countries, but to neighboring destinations. The figures indicate that faster, more convenient, and cheaper routes are still the first choice for Uzbeks.
The top three most visited countries in January:
- Kyrgyzstan - 232,174 people
- Tajikistan - 98,659 people
- Kazakhstan - 88,012 people
These top 3 destinations account for about 71% of all trips. Thus, 7 out of every 10 trips were to neighboring countries.

There is another important point in the statistics: the top 4 - Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia - accounted for about 82% of the total. That is, the general destination of trips mainly revolves around these four directions.
What does this trend mean?
On the one hand, it is convenient for neighbors to travel - for short-term recreation, visiting relatives, shopping and tourism together as a "one package." On the other hand, Saudi Arabia's high ranking indicates the stability of religious travel and tourism movement.
The conclusion is this: the beginning of 2026 shows that travel in Uzbekistan has intensified, and the main flow is still towards neighboring countries. If this trend continues, the tourist movement may become even more active throughout the year - just don't lose your passport, and then the series "who else is to blame?" will begin.
