Distance learning opportunities created for convicted women

An important initiative has been put forward in Uzbekistan to adapt convicted women to society and ensure their right to education. At a festive event held at the Kuksaroy residence on the occasion of International Women's Day, the launch of the New Life program, aimed at targeted work with women who have committed crimes, was announced.

Within the framework of this program, inmates will be trained in various professions for a period of 3 to 6 months and will receive special certificates upon completion. This will help them find their place in the labor market after their release.

One of the most important innovations is the expansion of higher education opportunities for women held in correctional facilities. They will be able to take exams at the institution, enter universities, and study remotely. State support measures will be provided to inmates admitted on a contract basis. In particular, it is planned to allocate interest-free loans with the condition of repayment after serving their sentence and finding employment.

These measures serve to encourage women's desire for education and ensure their full reintegration into society.
