In Samarkand, the “last citizen of the USSR” received an ID card

Today, on March 14, an ID card was issued by the Ministry of Justice to a woman who had been living with a USSR passport. This was reported on the ministry’s Telegram channel.
It is reported that Onarkhol Kubaeva, born on December 21, 1972 in Nurata district, lived for some time in the Kuvkalla neighborhood of Kushrabot district. In 1992 she became a bride and moved to the Nakurt neighborhood of Payariq district.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the citizen had been living for many years with the passport of the former union — the USSR. This was caused by inattention and insufficient family conditions. Also, until this time she had not applied to the citizens’ assembly of the neighborhood, the internal affairs bodies, or the civil registry offices.
After this situation was identified, the justice departments of Kushrabot and Payariq districts, together with the Migration and Citizenship Registration Department of the Payariq District Department of Internal Affairs, took the necessary measures. As a result, on March 14, 2026, an ID card of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan was officially issued to Onarkhol Kubaeva.
