During operational search activities conducted by State Security Service officers in cooperation with internal affairs bodies and the customs system, a previously monitored individual was apprehended.
Investigations revealed that a citizen born in 1973, a resident of Margilan with a prior conviction for drug offenses, was caught red-handed while retrieving a large quantity of narcotics hidden by Kyrgyz-based associates in the Khojaabad district. A total of 24 kilograms and 475 grams of hashish were seized from the hidden location.
In connection with this case, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect under Articles 28 and 246, Part 2 (Smuggling) and Articles 25 and 273, Part 5 (Sale of narcotic substances) of the Criminal Code. By court order, the suspect has been placed in custody as a precautionary measure.
Investigative efforts are currently ongoing to identify other individuals involved in this criminal scheme.
Furthermore, authorities have urged citizens to immediately report any such illegal activities to the State Security Service's short number 1520. Confidentiality of callers is strictly guaranteed.
