Details released on case of Uzbek woman found dead in South Korean home

It was previously reported that a 26-year-old Uzbek woman, who had traveled to South Korea for employment, was found dead in her home. According to the latest official information, it has been determined that her death was a result of suicide.
The information service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul has been working in close cooperation with Korean law enforcement agencies since the early days of the incident. The main objective is to clarify the circumstances and ensure the fair conduct of the investigation processes.
The mother of the deceased, Feruza Alimbekova, was invited to Korea to receive detailed information regarding the investigation. With the support of the embassy and local police, she traveled to the country and participated in meetings with officials.
On April 14 of this year, a meeting was held with officials from the Pyeongtaek City Police, attended by the mother of the deceased, her lawyer, and embassy representatives. During the meeting, the Korean side provided information on the results of additional inspections and forensic examinations.
According to the preliminary investigations and forensic medical reports, no signs of violence or homicide were observed in the woman's death. Furthermore, surveillance camera footage from the night of the incident was presented to the relatives of the deceased.
Results of the in-depth analysis confirmed that Nozima Kim committed suicide. During DNA, blood, and fingerprint examinations, as well as other medical tests, no toxic substances, drugs, or injuries caused by external influence were found on her body.
The Korean police emphasized that certain photographs circulating on social media do not belong to the official investigation materials and that distributing them is against the law.
The investigation is currently ongoing. The final results will be communicated to the relatives of the deceased.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan stated that it has taken the case under its control and urged citizens not to spread unconfirmed or baseless reports and to respect the memory of the deceased.
