Over 4,000 twins born in Uzbekistan in 3 months

In the first three months of 2026—January to March—a total of 191,086 live births were recorded in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Statistics Agency.
According to official data, the majority of newborns were single births. Specifically, there were 186,723 cases where one baby was born.
At the same time, twin births are not uncommon; 4,231 cases of twins were officially recorded during this period. This indicator shows that the birth rate in the country remains stable.
Furthermore, the statistics include families with triplets or more, totaling 132 cases. Such occurrences are relatively rare but represent a notable demographic phenomenon.
When broken down by region, there are significant differences in the number of births. The highest figure was recorded in the Samarkand region, with 23,120 babies born in three months.
The Fergana region follows with 21,563 births, and the Kashkadarya region with 21,292. These regions are characterized by high population density and natural growth rates.
The lowest figures were recorded in the Syrdarya region with 4,813 cases and the Navoi region with 5,241. Meanwhile, 8,080 births were observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Overall, these statistics confirm once again that demographic growth in the country continues to be stable and that birth rates remain high in certain regions.
