"Roma" expects more heroism from Shomurodov in the Europa League

The Roma club continues its march in the international tournament - the Europa League. Roma secured a place in the play-off round by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the final match of the general stage of the prestigious competition, which is being held in a new format.

In the match against the Bundesliga representative, Eldor Shomurodov scored his team's second goal, practically deciding the fate of the winner of the match.

According to UEFA rules, teams participating in the play-off qualifying matches must register the players who will be called up for the competition.

During the winter transfer window, certain changes took place in the Roma squad. Therefore, head coach Claudio Ranieri had to make some adjustments to the general squad for the Europa League.

Accordingly, goalkeeper Mattia Ryan, who left the club and joined other teams, and midfielders Mario Hermoso, Enzo Le Fe, and Nicolo Zalewski were excluded from the list of participants.

The Roma coaching staff added goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, defender Devin Rensch and Victor Nelson to the list of newly acquired players. These three players were included in the team's reserve list.

Roma will face Porto, one of the strongest clubs in Portugal, in a two-leg play-off. The first leg will be played on February 13 at home. The return leg in Rome is scheduled for February 20.
