The Supreme Court of Catalonia has fully satisfied the appeal filed by the famous Brazilian footballer Dani Alves in the rape case and overturned the conviction. The court also lifted all restrictions imposed on Alves. This was reported by the news agency "Reuters".
According to the court's decision, the evidence in the case was found to be insufficient to the extent that it "exceeds the standards required by the presumption of innocence". The court also noted that the testimony of the alleged victim was not reliable compared to the facts that could be confirmed by video recordings. The court said that this situation "clearly demonstrates" that the victim's testimony is not true.
Meanwhile, the decision can be appealed to the Spanish Supreme Court. This means that the case has not yet reached its final stage.
