How did Pakhtakor’s coach respond to the defeat against Surkhon?

How did Pakhtakor’s coach respond to the defeat against Surkhon?
Following the match of Super League round 8 between “Surkhon” and “Pakhtakor” (2:1), the “Lions’” head coach Pedro Moreira shared his opinion on the game. According to the coach, the Uzbekistan championship has turned into a tournament that demands a fight every single day.

“In the Uzbekistan championship, every team has its voice. Today was yet another example of that. The Surkhon team acted strongly and caused us serious difficulties.

Both teams played actively, but already in the first half we were left with one man down — and of course, that significantly affected the game.”

“The match was tough from the beginning, but we showed character”

The Portuguese specialist also commented on the unusual match scenario:

“From the very beginning, we faced an unpleasant situation. Playing with one man less is never easy. But despite that, the boys did not give up.

I always tell them — give everything for the club and fight till the end. That’s exactly what they did today.
Of course, we aimed to win. But in today’s conditions, that task was much more difficult.”

“The players fought until the final whistle”

Moreira emphasized his team’s commitment until the very last moments:

“My players didn’t give up until the end. That’s very important for me. The character they showed and the attitude they displayed — even in defeat — is an achievement for me.

Of course, results matter. But in such situations, fighting spirit speaks volumes about a player’s inner strength.”

Despite losing in Termez, for Pedro Moreira this match demonstrated his team's will and loyalty. Now the “Lions” will focus on correcting mistakes and improving results in upcoming matches.
