Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shared his thoughts on the team's results this season and their fight for a place in the Champions League. The Spanish specialist stressed that the team is currently at a crucial stage and everything is still in their hands.
"Only us and two other teams have won trophies"
"Newcastle won the League Cup, Liverpool won the Premier League. We won the Super Cup. But the rest of the top teams are finishing the season without any trophies. That's a fact. We played well in the FA Cup final, but the result turned against us. Sometimes in football, that's what happens," Guardiola said at a press conference.
“4 points are enough for the Champions League”
Pep stressed that the team is still fighting for a big goal:
“Our main focus is to qualify for the Champions League. Right now, we only need 4 points. It is in our hands to complete this mission. Both the players and the fans must understand this,” the specialist said.
Decisive matches ahead
After 36 rounds, Manchester City is in 6th place with 65 points. In the remaining two rounds, the “city” will first visit Bournemouth - this match will take place on May 21. On May 25, the team will host Fulham at home. These two matches will determine the team's fate in Europe next season.
