The Judo World Championship currently underway in Budapest stands out not only for its intense sports matches, but also for important organizational processes. As part of this prestigious event, elections have begun for new members of the Athletes’ Commission of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
Of particular note is that Uzbekistan’s representative, Paris 2024 Olympic champion Diyora Keldiyorova, has been nominated. Her election to the IJF commission would be significant not only for her personally, but also for the development of national sport.
Only accredited athletes — that is, officially registered participants — are eligible to vote. Therefore, a successful outcome depends on the support of dedicated and experienced athletes on the international stage.
Keldiyorova is facing strong competition from fellow world-class judokas such as Daria Bilodid (Ukraine), Ryonosuke Haga (Japan), Nathan Katz (Australia), and Ketelyn Quadros (Brazil).
It is well known that the Athletes’ Commission protects the interests of athletes at the global level and participates in making important decisions. Thus, Diyora Keldiyorova’s potential election to this role could mark a new stage in her career.
The voting process is expected to conclude in the coming days. The judo community eagerly awaits the potential triumph of the Uzbek athlete. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
