The Asian Wrestling Championship in the U17 and U23 age categories kicked off in the coastal city of Vung Tau, Vietnam. On the first day of this prestigious continental competition, Uzbek wrestlers took the prize places and brought pride and joy to the fans.
“Classic” wrestlers took the field in the U23 direction of the tournament. According to the results of the first day, the Uzbek national team began its victorious march with two gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
What is pleasing is that Abdulla Aliyev (72 kg) and Samandar Bobonazarov (82 kg) from our national team defeated all their rivals in their weight categories and won the highest gold medal of the Asian Championship.
Mehroz Bakhromov (60 kg) successfully reached the final and was awarded a silver medal. His teammate Ogabek Mukimov (67 kg) managed to win a bronze medal in intense competitions.
The first results of this competition once again demonstrate that the kurash school and youth training in Uzbekistan are at a very high level. We look forward to the victorious participation of our compatriots in the remaining days of the Continental Championship and wish them good luck.
