
The worthy participation of our compatriots in the U17 Asian Wrestling Championship held in Vietnam is in the spotlight. At this prestigious competition, which brought together the most talented and promising young wrestlers of our continent, our compatriots demonstrated high skill and defended the honor of our country with dignity.
At the end of the competitions in various weight categories, the names of a number of prize-winners in Greco-Roman and women's wrestling were announced. It is noteworthy that our wrestlers won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.
Gold medalists:
- Behruzbek Valiev - defeated his rivals in the 71 kg weight category and became the champion.
- Abdulaziz Kholmirzaev - surpassed all his rivals in the 80 kg weight category and took the highest place.
- Shahista Shonazarova - participated in the 40 kg weight category among girls and won all competitions.
Silver medalist:
- Mashkhura Abdumusaeva — reached the final in the 46 kg weight category and took a strong second place.
Bronze medalist:
- Husan Giyasudinov — performed well in the 65 kg weight category and took an honorable third place.
According to the National Olympic Committee, in total, our “classic” wrestlers won a total of 10 medals during the competition — 3 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze. This result provided them with 1st place in the overall team standings. This once again confirmed that Uzbekistan is one of the leading countries in Asia in youth wrestling.
