
From June 30 to July 7, the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, is hosting the World Boxing Cup — a true celebration for boxing fans. This prestigious tournament features top fighters from around the globe, including representatives from Uzbekistan.
In the -54 kg weight category, Feruza Kazakova, representing Uzbekistan, faced one of the local favorites, Kazakhstan’s Anel Sakish, in the first stage. As expected, the bout was intense. Feruza used her unique style, precise punches, and aggressive tactics to outmatch her opponent.
The judges unanimously awarded the victory to Kazakova. This win once again highlighted the international recognition of the Uzbek boxing school. Even though her opponent had the home-crowd advantage, Feruza remained composed and used her experience to claim victory.
All eyes now turn to the next matchup. Soon, another Uzbek athlete, Khumorabonu Mamajonova, will enter the ring. Her opponent will be Taiwan's experienced fighter Wu Shi-Yi. This battle is also expected to be fierce and competitive.
