The summer transfer window in European football has entered an intense phase. One of the central figures is the experienced goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who currently plays for the well-known Parisian club PSG and represents the Italian national team.
According to recent reports, not only Chelsea, but also two other major European clubs – Manchester City and Bayern Munich – have begun showing serious interest in him, insider Nicolò Schira reported on his social network X.
It is reported that all three clubs are closely monitoring the situation around Donnarumma, despite his current contract with PSG running until 2026. So far, there is no clarity regarding a contract extension, which creates an opening for other clubs.
At the moment, neither Donnarumma nor PSG management have received or made any official offers. However, in the rapidly changing football world and given the high demand for a solid goalkeeper, this transfer could very well become a reality.
According to Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper is valued at around 40 million euros. During the 2024/25 season, Donnarumma played 47 matches for PSG, conceded 43 goals, and kept 17 clean sheets. These numbers once again prove his level.
Considering his stats and experience, Donnarumma is clearly a strong candidate to join a top European club. Especially now that Chelsea is looking for a reliable goalkeeper, City's future with Ederson is uncertain, and Bayern is planning for life after Neuer – the Donnarumma transfer could be a key strategic move for each of them.
Fans are now eagerly waiting to see what Donnarumma decides. Will he stay in Paris or accept a new challenge? The next few days will tell. The battle for a top goalkeeper has only just begun. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
