According to the reports, the player was urgently taken to the hospital, where he underwent initial medical examinations. The team doctor of “Esteghlal” made the following official statement regarding the situation:
“During Thursday’s training session, Rustam Ashurmatov suffered an injury to his right knee. To assess the severity of the damage and provide a more precise report to the specialists, an MRI scan was conducted. Based on the preliminary findings, it will take at least six weeks before Rustam can resume training,” the club doctor said.
This news was not pleasing for Esteghlal supporters. It was expected that Ashurmatov’s arrival would boost competition in the defensive line and introduce new tactical solutions. Now, the club management will have to focus on helping the player recover.
