The match of the 18th round of the Super League between "Andijan" and "Navbahor" (0:1) was held in an intense and fierce atmosphere. After this match, the head coach of "Andijan" team, Maksim Shatskikh, took part in a press conference and shared his thoughts about the game. According to him, the result of this match really corresponded to a draw, but in football sometimes a single shot can decide the fate.
— It was a match for a draw. Sometimes such situations happen — the opponent makes one attack, scores a goal, and wins. Today was the same. We also did not create many chances, but in terms of quality we were better. This is football, and defeat is always unpleasant. Once again I repeat: the result of this match was worthy of a draw. Now we will analyze the game and draw conclusions from the mistakes, — said the coach.
While answering journalists' questions, the coach also openly admitted that he personally considers himself responsible for this defeat:
— Of course, I consider myself guilty. If the team loses, the coach is the first to be responsible. Maybe I made the wrong substitution or made a mistake in choosing the lineup. Maybe I could not prepare the players psychologically in the right way. But on the other hand, after such matches there is no need for excessive discussion. In matches against strong opponents, everyone must be mentally prepared. Even if we had won, I would have said: “this match was worthy of a draw”. I am honest — one shot, one goal. We also had shots, but luck turned away. In training, we work every day on turning shots into goals, but during the match we cannot achieve this. Why this is happening — I myself do not yet understand.
Journalists also asked about Krezio Altin:
— Krezio Altin is a defensive midfielder, he plays deeper. We, in order to strengthen the attack, needed to put an attacking midfielder forward. Therefore, it was logically wrong to bring him onto the field, — said Shatskikh.
An explanation was also given for replacing Saidnurullaev with Islam Mamatkazin:
— Towards the end of the game, the struggle “in the air” intensified. Mamatkazin is known for his good heading ability, so we thought he could bring benefits in set-piece situations, — said the coach.
This speech of his was perceived by the fans as sincerity and openness. Shatskikh did not avoid criticism and admitted his responsibility, which can strengthen trust within the team.
