Today a friendly match between the veterans of Uzbekistan and Russia was held. Taking place in a festive mood and in the spirit of uncompromising struggle, the encounter was rich in interesting episodes and a 2:2 draw result was recorded. The support in the stands was high, and on the field respect and a sporting atmosphere prevailed.
After the match, Timur Kapadze, who became the author of a goal in the Uzbekistan national team lineup, spoke and told the main impressions of the evening. He first emphasized that he was pleased to share the field with legends and called the game a real holiday:
“First of all, we were happy that we played the ball together with such legends, because from our youth we admired them. The holiday was like a holiday. We ourselves also acted with pleasure.
I went onto the field thinking I would score a goal against Dasaev. This is also pleasant in its own way, Dasaev was the best footballer of his time. But the most important thing is that the game went well,” says Timur Kapadze.
These words of Kapadze revealed the essence of the atmosphere of the game: respect for the legends, the feeling of being close to the ideals of childhood, and at the same time enjoyment on the field. His intention to find a way to Dasaev’s goal added additional intrigue to the encounter — to score a goal against the figure recognized as the best goalkeeper of 1988 is, of course, a special memory for every footballer.
Despite the draw result, the main gain of the meeting was to further strengthen the bridges of friendship. The veterans’ match is not only nostalgia, but also a kind of lesson for the new generation: on the field rivalry, outside the field unity. The fans received a memorable impression from the evening filled with goals, beautiful combinations, and sincere handshakes.
Zamin.uz conclusion: this show on the stage of legends ended with a 2:2 score, but in emotions the “win” was big — memories were renewed, respect and friendship deepened once more. The aim is the same: taking inspiration from the veterans, and in new matches — only forward!
