Gianni Infantino addresses visa issues for the 2026 World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is currently in North America, closely monitoring preparations for the 2026 World Cup. One of its main goals is to increase the number of football fans coming to the competition and facilitate the visit process for them.
Infantino noted that he is currently in negotiations with North American countries and is striving to reach an agreement on visa simplification for fans from other countries.
"Fans from 164 countries attended the Club World Cup. They had the opportunity to freely enter the USA. Of course, there should be order and requirements, but I hope that all countries participating in the World Cup will have the opportunity to invite their fans," the FIFA president noted.
As a reminder, the 2026 World Cup kicks off on June 11th and runs until July 19th. The tournament will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
