From August 22 to September 7, the Women's World Volleyball Championship competitions were held in four major Thai cities - Bangkok, Nakhonratchasim, Chiang Mai, and Puket. In each meeting, an uncompromising struggle, fierce rivalry, and passionate moments were evident.
In the most anticipated part of the tournament - the final match, the teams of Italy and Turkey faced each other. In a fiercely contested match, the Italian volleyball players triumphed over their opponents with a score of 3:2, becoming world champions for the second time in their history. The scores were recorded as follows: 25:23, 13:25, 26:24, 19:25 and 15:8 in the decisive game.
Thus, the Italian national team won another historic title and demonstrated its will and skill throughout the tournament. Turkey, as a strong opponent, fought until the last minute and was limited to second place.
At the same time, the dramatic clash for 3rd place did not leave the fans indifferent. Brazil and Japan played in a five-set match to win. As a result, the Brazilian volleyball players won the bronze medal with a score of 3:2. The results of the game were as follows: 25:11, 25:17, 19:25, 27:29, and 18:16.
Significantly, Serbia, the reigning champions of the last tournament, failed to advance beyond the round of 16. They missed out on the match against the Dutch and left the tournament early.
It can be said that this championship, held in Thailand, became one of the most memorable events not only in the history of women's volleyball, but also for the entire sports world.
