At the World Boxing Championship 2025, held in England, representatives of our country continue to achieve worthy results one after another. Also, the sixth final of the day, held today, became a memorable event for the fans.
In the decisive fight in the -85 kg weight category, Uzbekistan's Akmaljon Isroilov faced the host country's boxer, Teagn Stott. The fierce match lasted all three rounds, and the judges unanimously declared Israilov the winner. As a result, our young man won the title of world champion.
After this victory, the Uzbekistan national team again took the lead in the overall team standings in terms of the number of gold medals. Currently, our team has 6 gold, as well as one silver and 3 bronze medals. Thus, we managed to reclaim the lead in medals from neighboring Kazakhstan.
As a reminder, Fazliddin Erkinboyev brought home the first gold medal, while Asadxo'ja Mo'ydinxo'jayev secured the second, Javohir Ummataliyev the third, To'rabek Habibullayev the fourth, and Abdumalik Xalokov the fifth. Navbahor Hamidova also won silver, and in the women's competition, three more bronze medals were won.
