December tournament in Morocco: Egypt and Uzbekistan will meet for the first time

The Egyptian Football Association is on the verge of finalizing an agreement to join the international mini-tournament in Morocco in December as part of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations. This was reported by Egypt's Shorouk News.

Four teams are expected to participate in the tournament: Uzbekistan, Iran, Cape Verde, and Egypt. According to the doubles draw, Egypt and Uzbekistan will play in the first match, and the winner will meet the winner of the Iran - Cape Verde match in the final.

The exact venue and date of the competition have not yet been disclosed. The UFA also did not provide official confirmation. However, the tournament could be the last serious test for the "pharaohs" before AMC (CAN), and for Uzbekistan, it could be another solid preparation ground before the World Cup.

As a reminder, the Uzbekistan national team has already secured a spot in the 2026 World Cup. The Egyptian team needs only 1 point in 2 qualifying matches - they are very close to the final stage.
