German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on the match after a convincing 4-0 victory in the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.
According to the specialist, the team fully deserved the victory, but some shortcomings were also noticeable during the game.
"I can't say that everything was perfect. However, the players made the right decisions in many cases. We could have scored more goals, but Luxembourg played very hard in defense. Especially after one of their players was sent off, the whole team switched to defense. Therefore, it was quite difficult to create every situation," Nagelsmann said after the match.
The German coach emphasized that this victory was a significant step for the team.
"Although it was difficult, we deserved victory. These 3 points are of great importance to us, as they further uplifted the team's morale," he added.
Nagelsmann also emphasized the discipline and teamwork of his pupils. He believes the German team is currently at a stage where they are finding their game.
Following this victory, Germany took the lead in Group A with 6 points. The team will play the next match against an important opponent and aim to strengthen the leadership.
Thus, under Nagelsmann, the German national team is gradually returning to its traditional strong play.
