Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, gave a clear answer to the question of whether there will be changes in the team during the winter transfer window. The renowned functionary emphasized that the club had completed all its planned work in the summer and currently does not need any new acquisitions.
"We accomplished what we planned during the summer transfer window. Now, many of our players are in the process of returning to the squad after an injury. They need time to re-adapt to the field. Therefore, no new agreements will be made during the winter transfer window," Deku said in an interview with journalists.
The Catalan club didn't make significant changes in the summer, even after winning the Spanish title last season. Only goalkeeper Joan Garcia and young striker Rooney Bargi joined the team. English striker Marcus Rashford was also loaned from Manchester United.
At the same time, he parted ways with ten players during Barcelona's squad renewal in the summer. Half of them were sent on loan to other clubs. Through this decision, the club aimed to create opportunities for young people and maintain financial stability.
According to Decoo, the team is currently relying on internal reserves, and the main task is to fully adapt the players who have returned to their normal form after the injury to team play.
Thus, Barcelona is expected to have a calm winter season - there are no new agreements, but the team is confident in its existing potential.
