Vincent Kompany has extended his contract with Munich’s Bayern club until 2029. The previous agreement was set to end in 2027.
According to Euro-football.ru, the club management was concerned that Manchester City would add Kompany to their squad. Josep Guardiola might leave his position as Manchester City’s head coach after the 2026/27 season.
Therefore, the English club showed interest in Kompany. Bayern management decided to sign a long-term contract with the 39-year-old coach.
Kompany became Bayern’s head coach in the summer of 2024. The team won the German Bundesliga last season.
In the new season, they have won 12 consecutive matches in all competitions.
