
The III Asian Youth Games, held in Bahrain, are in full swing. The Uzbekistan delegation once again concluded the competitions on October 26 with high results.
At the end of the day, our athletes won a total of 11 medals - 3 gold, 1 silver, and 7 bronze. This result clearly demonstrated the stable development and collective strength of our youth in recent days.
Gold medals were awarded to:
Avaz Anvarov (MMA, -50 kg) decisively defeated his opponents. His victory was noted as an important historical result not only for the team, but also for his discipline.
Ahadjon Mukhtorov (taekwondo WT, -73 kg) left no chance for any opponent in all stages. His physical fitness and mental stability were also highly appreciated by the coaches.
Rushana Ravshanova (taekwondo WT, -55 kg) overcame strong competitors in the girls' competition and raised the flag of Uzbekistan high. This was his first major international victory.
The silver medal was won by Ibrahim Botirov (MMA, -55 kg). He fought very fiercely in the final and fought for victory until the last seconds.
Bronze medals were also won by a number of our athletes: Kamronbek Kodirov (MMA, -65 kg), Abdulboriy Abdugofurov (MMA, -70 kg), Shodiyona Rakhmonova (athletics, 400 m hurdles), Abdurahmon Mamajonov (athletics, long jump) and Doston Abduvaliyev, Shahruz Davronov and Jasmina Ochilova (muay-tay, -45 kg, U15).
These results demonstrate the unparalleled work and high level of training of our youth in various fields.
Currently, the Uzbekistan team is in second place in the overall team rankings after China with 9 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals. This result is not only the result of reforms in the sports system, but also an expression of the enthusiasm and purposefulness of our youth.
Although the tournament in Bahrain is not yet over, these results marked the beginning of glorious days for our country. And the fans expect new victories from our athletes in the upcoming competitions.
