
At the World Taekwondo (WT) Championship taking place in China, the Uzbekistan national team achieved another significant victory. National team member Najmiddin Qosimhojiyev delighted all fans with his fantastic performance.
Competing in the -74 kg weight category, Kasimhodzhiev defeated his opponents one after another and faced the famous name of the taekwondo world - Brazilian Olympic and World Championship medalist Edibal Pontes in the final. In the long and intense final, Najmiddin won thanks to accurate shots and excellent tactical preparation.
This result is not only a personal achievement, but also of historical significance for the sport of Uzbekistan as a whole. After all, the last time our athletes won the world championship in men's taekwondo was 10 years ago.
Before the final, Kasimkhajiev's path was not easy. In previous stages, she defeated strong representatives of taekwondo schools such as South Korea, Turkey, and Mexico. In every battle, he was distinguished not only by technique, but also by willpower and mental stability.
This victory at the World Cup marked a new stage for the Uzbekistan national team. Sports experts note that thanks to the results of Najmiddin Kasimkhajiev, the systemic reforms of the national school in recent years are yielding results.
After the championship, Najmiddin said in his own words:
"This victory is not for me, but for all of Uzbekistan. I express my gratitude to the coaches, teammates, and my people who supported me. This is only the beginning, there are still great achievements ahead."
At the World Championship in China, our national team is actively participating in other weight categories. The Taekwondo Federation and the Ministry of Sport assessed this result as a great motivation and noted that it will be a new source of inspiration for the younger generation.
