During a counterattack, the shot by Vladislav Vanat was brilliantly saved by the Getafe goalkeeper. As the match was coming to an end, after a pass from Alex Sancris, Borja Mayoral made an accurate shot to make it 2:0.
Girona had to settle only for a consolation goal: Vanat was roughly stopped in the penalty area and Cristian Stuani confidently converted the penalty (2:1). Thanks to this victory, Getafe rose to sixth place in the league table, while Girona continues to share the last place.
